Vettori stuns Pakistan, Kiwis in final: ICC Champions Trophy semi final (Jborg)

New Zealand reached the final with a stunning five-wicket win over Pakistan. Grant Elliott (75 not out) and Daniel Vettori (41) put on 104 for the fifth wicket as they over ran Pakistan’s 233-9 over run with 13 balls remaining. Pakistan earlier looked set to reach a challenging total following teenager Umar Akmal’s solid 55. But a middle order collapse left them needing a repair job from teenager Aamer (19 not out) and Saeed Ajmal (14 not out) who added 35 runs off 34 deliveries for the last wicket. ICC Champions Trophy semi final, J’borg, Oct 2009.

India v West Indies - 2nd ODI - Kingston

Paceman Ravi Rampaul made a superb re-entry to the West Indies team as they levelled their four match one day international series against India with an emphatic eight-wicket victory. A magnificent 95 runs by Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (95 with six fours and two sixes from 130 balls) kept India in the hunt. But the West Indies reached the target with 95 balls to spare, following a workmanlike 85 from 102 balls from Runako Morton, and a typically robust 64 from 46 balls from Chris Gayle. 2nd ODI, Jamaica, June 2009.
