Gayle force century evens honours: 3rd Test, Day 2 (Perth)

West Indies captain Chris Gayle struck the 5th fastest ever century (102 in 70 balls) in Test history and put on 136 for the opening wicket with Travis Dowlin (55) to leave the test finely poised. Ramnaresh Sarwan (42 not out) and Narsingh Deonarine (10 not out) guided the tourists through to 214-2 at stumps. Earlier, Australia declared on 520-7 after good knocks from Mike Hussey (82), Marcus North (68) and Brad Haddin (88). 3rd Test, Day 2, Perth. Dec 2009.

Skipper Mahendra Dhoni (46 not out) saw India home as India took a 2-1 lead with one game left courtesy of a thrilling six-wicket victory. Rain delays interrupted play four times, but Ramnaresh Sarwan top-scored as the hosts made 186-7 from 27 overs.
